El sueño de Deméter
La deessa grega Demèter va perdre sa filla Persèfone que va ser raptada per Hades. El dolor com a mare va tornar les terres infèrtils. I va ser la titànida Hècate qui li va revelar que la seva filla estava en l’avern. Demèter va haver de pactar amb el mateix Hades. Persèfone passaria la tardor i l’hivern amb Hades i la primavera i l’estiu amb sa mare. Malgrat que Demèter i Persèfone no podien compartir el seu temps al complet, la deessa mare va retornar al planeta la seva fertilitat. Va acceptar oferir sense límits els seus dons a la terra.
The Greek goddess Demeter lost her daughter Persephone, who was abducted by Hades. Her pain as a mother rendered the lands infertile. And it was the Titan Hecate who revealed to her that her daughter was in the underworld. Demeter had to negotiate with Hades himself. Persephone would spend autumn and winter with Hades, and spring and summer with her mother. Although Demeter and Persephone could not share all their time together, the mother goddess restored fertility to the planet. She accepted offering her gifts to the earth without limits.
